Chamber Music Program

The Music Institute of Long Island strongly recommends participation in chamber music ensembles for students as soon as they become skilled enough to do so well. Chamber music is a wonderful way for instrumentalists to build the skills necessary to play with others and generally improves a student’s rhythm and intonation. It is a way for the student to gain independence and responsibility through playing within an ensemble. Students will gain listening skills, performance skills, leadership skills and team work. Students will learn to interact with small ensemble groups and form meaningful relationships with their peers while performing at their most focused level of playing.
